  • D16 wont start..

I have a D16z6 motor I just finished swapping into my EG, I had it starting but once warmed up the idle would get low around 1k rpm and then kill. As I attempted to drive it the car died and wouldn't turn back on. All I am hearing is the relay clicking I believe, it is NOT turning over. I want to say its the starter or the altinator but I am not positive. I'm going to charge the battery now to see if it starts. Any advice?

ya make sure the alternator is charging the battery. with the car running the battery voltage should be round about 14volts.

Just got my battery back, I guess its only keeping 73% of the charge. I put it in my car and tried to start it and the same problem. I'm just getting rapid clicking, still not turning over. As for the alternator, I pried it back and tightened the belt to tighten the belt. It is tight enough with little slack

I actually jus brought it home from autozone and surprisingly it tested good but there was an issue keeping charge. The battery only kept 73%. Confused?

I will be bringing my alternator in today. And trying to get a new battery under warranty. Does autozone test starters as well outside of the vehicle?

its the battery... starter is good... when its the starter you only will hear a loud click and thats it... when u hear lots off clicks really fast... is the battery...

Autozone test your battery in or out of the car....

alternator in or out of the car...

Starter in the car.... sometimes the starter works out of the car but doesnt have the strengh to move the flywheel
