Starting Issues

Need some help, I picked a 96 coupe up, its got a d15 block with a d16 head, and everything was going good when I bought it. Now when i go to start it, it takes like a good 10 cranks almost, half the time it'll somewhat start, it goes up to like 5k rpm and then just dies and when i give it gas nothing seems to happen.

but once the thing starts, It's all good from there

Any possibilities? Thanks
