sohc all day......i have a 94 coupe d16z6 vitara pistons ,eagle rods ,stock head 300 hp @ 16 psi on vp racefuel tune on crome

Stock d16z6 10 psi 215 whp. Blew hole in block after one day. D16y8 block guard arias 75.5mm pistons eagle rods crower valve train crower turbo cam. 315 whp 19 psi pump gas 4000 miles warped block.

From what I know and herd dohc suck at turbo and can't really run a higher psi because its a dohc and twice the work for it and for a a sohc can run a higher psi for a turbo and cost less and can hold more psi and works a little less so in the end usually sohc turbos will be faster than a dohc turbo and dohc has a easier chance to blow up

Sohc with vitara can hold a lot of psi cuz compression is like 7:1. U Loose a lot of bottom end power and gain huge up top. Kind of like a 2 stroke powerband

Engines back at machine shop getting sleeved. Ill run u in the spring. I toasted a sleeved gsr sleeved high comp. ina when i was on 10psi. So when the cars back together in the spring lock it the f up
