help battery wont stay charged!!

ok so i dont get it. i bought a new battery after my engine swap n every day i need to jump it cuz its dead. i kno theres nothing left on wen i shut the motor off. so idk wat it could be. but i only start it every once n awhile. but i kno by the next day its dead. any suggestions? i kno im not gonna get the actual answer from wat i said but give me some ideas of wat to check please.. thanks

make sure ur alternator is charging... make sure you dont have a bad battery.. i had a car in my shop today with a brand new battery someone put in... and it was defective

if it is the alternator then if i were to drive it around for a bit it would charge it right? cuz i kno i havnt rly drivin the car in almost a year.. not including the time it was sittin before i bought it n put it in. just maybe 20 miles since i got it in.

the alternator charges the battery and powers the car while it's running. if the alternator is bad, it wouldn't be charging the battery, so the car would be running off the battery. usually it won't last long like this before everything runs out of power.

check for draws, something that is still getting power while the car is turned off.

ive checked everything that is powered n i dont see anything. everything is off that i kno of.

if it aint tha alternator... check your grounds... put a ground right by the alternator... and do a test... get a voltmeter and put on the battery both while it is on and when it is off.. it should read lik 15 volts or some shyt while the car is on... that means the alternator is working properly..

14.4 volts charging should be good if its less then 13.8 its not enough
