d16y8 to z6 swap

hello everyone just wondering what it would take to make my 96 ex run a d16z6. obviously i know i would need the z6 motor haha but would i need to change over the wire harness for the motor to obd1 and all that stuff and is it possible to get a obd1 to obd2a jumper harness for emmisions lol if anyone has done this before can you ad some light on this for me haha

no but im sure it will shit out eventually it has 140 thousand miles on it and its gettin boosted to im sure it will soon so when it does i might wanna go z6

Just take your chances with the y8 if it craps out then worry about a z6 it's not like there much money anyway.good luck with your build brothaa

I just did a z6 swap.... but thats because i didnt have a motor to begin with... IF you run obd1 harness and ecu(which u can) the car will run mint, but you WONT pass emissions in CT... So i ran the obd2 vtec ecu(p2p) with an ex harness. You could even run a dx harness and run wires for vtec... You need to do some wiring/de pinning to the dizzy cuz a z6 dizzy is different then any other so u have to run that one and switch internals or the plugs ect... You need a 96 ex AIT sensor and knock sensor... And then you have to either machine the oil pump and put the y8 pump on z6 block for crank sensor, or do the "crank sensor wire mod" ... I did the wire mod and seems to be running just fine... And theres a few other things im forgetting... Alot of wiring ect if you want the car to pass emissions... You got my number text me man it is easy nothing to change over really all you need to do is run the y8 intake and alt and I can show you how to run the z6 dizzy with a obd2 plugs and bypass the crank sensor I got a crx motor in my 97 coupe every easy and it will pass emissions
