whats good ctv... been havin a problem gettin my engine to run normal... when the car is at an idle it revs up and down.. i have a d15b8 intake manifold on there... n when i unplug a sensor on the back side of the intake mani(on pass side) the car stops reving, but still seems to be idling a little high.. also now my car will not start unless i give it some gas.. seriously like wtf... i just need to get this car on the road.... if anyone knows what could b the problem please lmk...

    please bump if viewed

    Injectors or sensors?
    Combo of both.
    Docent sound like anything major
Try replacing the sensor you unplugged.

I know my y8 was doin the same when I plugged it up to the computer came back to two sensors

sounds like idler control valve.. any check engine codes? high idle and sometimes reving up and down is also due to a vaccum leak so check for that. i have a y7 throttle body with a good aicv but its a 3 wire plug if u wanna buy it lmk im guessing you have 2 wire plug cus where u said it was at.

Bump..^thanks for the input... btw i believe the sensor is actually located on the tb instead of the intake mani.. by any chance does anyone know what this sensor is called??

tps sensor.... throttle position sensor. im pretty sure.. as far as the idle goes tho if the tps isnt ur prob check the iac valve (idle air control) and check to see if u have any vacuum leaks..

just checked.. got no vacuum leaks... the tps when plugged in is causing the engine to misfire... started car with tps unplugged ran fine for about 2 minutes(was still idling a tad high) but out of nowhere it just turned off... n now i'm having the issue of starting the car again... would this particular issue im having with the engine dying n problems starting the car be the fuel injectors??

change the tps.... and maybe u got the wires for the injectors plugged into the wrong one.. happened with mine switched em worked fine.

This might sound stupid because i dont know what kind of work youre doing on this motor, but is everything wired properly? Just wondering because youre throwing an obd1 manifold on an obd2 motor. As far as the tps goes; fuel and timing are directly related to the tps. Where did the sensor come from? And which throttle body are you using? Test the sensor first and try adjusting it (.5v). Double check that map sensor vacuum doesnt have a leak.

u ain't askin a dumb question breh.. u good lol... n i threw on the obd1 manifold on the obd2 motor but i already converted motor to obd1, and used my old wiring harness... i got it to idle correctly most of the time besides when i 'cold start' it... anyways it's still runnin a lil funky... i think i might have zero back pressure because i only got like 2 feet of pipe for my exhaust... Also i have zero o2 sensors and no cat... could this cause my engine to run kinda shitty(for example- not having as much power as i should etc etc..)??

sounds like you have the tps and map sensors crossed
