  • d16z6 build

Whats up CTV, I've been trying to do my research for this build I'm doing for this summer on my daily driver. I'm definitely building a single cam so if you don't have any positive advice or feedback regarding single cams, I don't want to hear it.
I currently have a d16z6 Vtec complete motor (Top & Bottom End) on the engine stand, a Ex tranny, and a Skunk 2 intake manifold waiting to be installed. My original plans for this motor was to go "All Motor" which I'm still considering, but I'm interested in boosting my EG, even if its 8-10psi for that extra power. The EG has a Tanabe exhaust and AEM intake so far. Whatever I decide, I still want to spiff up the motor for example with new pistons, valves & springs & retainers, a new ecu, a new cam & adjustable cam gears, headers, a new clutch & flywheel, injectors, and little things like bearings and gasket replacements. I have a few questions I need to clear before I begin though:

    1. What pistons are most reliable, that I will get the bang for the buck? and what compression should I look into if I need any at all?

    2. What size (cc) injectors should I look for? I was told the stock ones worked great just needed to send it out to get them cleaned and tested? Where could I send them if so?

    3. I've been told to bore my block? What does this do and what am I looking at price wise to get this done?

    4. What do you suggest/recommend from your D series build? Why?

    5. What website or shop should I visit based on excellence?

i would say get bisi cams thats step one. also you cant tell what size injectors you will need untill u decide what ur doing .na or boost and if you go boost how much boost. you dont need to bore your block unless or going with bigger pistons. you only need a header if you are going all motor. but all motor d series is pointless and expensive for no reason.

vitara pistons, bisimoto cam, 550cc injectors, FPR, ...not about singles ...but on a STOCK ls with STOCK internals with a turbo you can easily push over 250 to the wheels ..just saying

go turbo, its the way to go on d series. You can put out 400+ on stock sleeves with the z6.

upgrade the oil pump port it or aftermarket, vitara 75.5 piston, fj i beam rods, delta 272.2 cams, 1000cc injectors, 3 angle valve job, port & polish, block guard etc. and youll be pumpin 400 easy.
