  • D 1.5/1.6 Problems... Help Please

Hello CTV, My car is having some problems

    1994
    Honda
    Civic
    1.5 Block
    1.6 vTec Head
1.6 Intake Mani(had the smaller 1 but used the 16 mani that was sitting a while)
Cold air intake on short pipe

So my problem is that my car refuses to start with out a fight when its cold. what ive learned to do to make this half hour process take fifteen mins is to take off the sensor on the intake and the one on the intake mani (i think) which is located behind Intake sensor. Then i prime half a dozen times, just to try to start... or try to. now i redo the prime then turn over until it decides it will start. the whole time im doing that i smell gas inside the car and smell gas out the exaust. then obviously plug the sensors back in.
now doing this every day is going to kill my starter ect. one day soon. when i get my car to start with out unpluging the sensors the idol goes steadly up, down, up, down. no matter how long i drive it, once it hits idol it does it again. when i unplug those sensors weather its already started or do it after its started the idol is rumbling at roughly 1100 like its a figgin muscle car.
when started its using way more gas than needed. white smoke is constant and smells like unused fuel. i drive 37 miles to work and it takes me 2.5 to 3 gallons to make it that far and thats @ 70-85 MPH. Eats WAY TOO MUCH gas.

    Nutshell-

1 How do I make the car start easier
2 How do I make the idol stay @ 1000ish upon starting the car minus unplugging sensors
3 How do I make the gas smelling smoke go away
4 How do I not use 3 gallons to go 37 miles.

serious answers please, ive had a few half whits try to tell me whats what and im sick of ppl throwing darts in the dark. PLease help and thankyou for all the answers i get

Timing it off sounds like you used the wrong timing belt or a timing issue
