ok got a 99 civic EX from my cousin today..he got an escalade like me so he sold me his car for 100 bucks...question for people here...D16Y7 is non vtec yet i got a vtec soleniod on this engine...WTF is going on...could it be a vtec head and non vtec block? anyone wana gimmie answers would be a big help

its 125k on the body engine and trans minus diff head..0 rust the car sells for 4k all day paint job and undercoating done less than a week ago

LOL just got a 99 ex myself for 500. Your car is origionally vtec. The d16y8 is know for having oiling problems. What probably happened is your cuz threw a rod bearing and replaced it with a cheaper lower end (y7) its what I have to do untill the swap goes in.
