  • vtec wiring

    ok i got a dpfi ef and im puting a sohc vtec in it this week can i use a vtec controler ? tomake it work kus i dont have the cash to swap the ecu and wiring?? kus if i do i have to change my alt and intake mani and need a mpfi setup and all that soo can any one help me with this ????? will a chip work?

    you can use the dpfi mani and run a vtec controller but it will be pointless. the stock d15 wont compensate for the large vtec cam and wont adjust the ignition the injector pulse either.
    go mpfi and get a tune.IMHO

        Just do it rite, get a p28 ecu, harness changed dpfi-mpfi, an ebay set of adapters (OBD0-OBD1 for the ecu and dizzy) and a z6/y8. If your strapped for cash and the engine's blown you can swap it but it's not going to run correctly until you do the dpfi-mpfi conversion. Also don't put your vtec on a switch, you'll kill that engine with a quickness. You could pull it off for $300 if you find a deal or two. ECU's can be had for $50 along with the harness adapter. Then you just need to do a lil rewiring. Read this shit also:

            Just make a wtb thread for the obd0-obd1 adapters. People are always sellin um.

              im going threw the same thing..
              imo i say get a good swap buy everything and do it all at 1 time.. it will save u the head ache..
              if u do the obd1 jumper harness
              but u also need
              - OBD1 Distributor
              - 4 wire O2 sensor.
              go 2 rywire.com they have good shyt
              they also have the dpfi-mpfi harness or just find some1 that has an si harness..

                yea but this is like only kus i got the motor cheep from my boy kus mine died it has 334xxx its dun i need anew motor in by monday morning kus i need to get to work
