check engine!

got a 98 civic ex coupe that i just put a catback exhaust on yesterday as well as an ebay hi flo cat. this mornin on my way to school my check engine light went on. now i know it has sumthin to do with my o2 sensor in the cat, but idk if its bad to just leave it the way it is and forget abt the check engine light, or if its gonna mess up the way my car runs. so my question is should i fix it or will it be fine? please help!!

aight thanks. i gotta wait til the weekend to get to it, but i think the wiring got wet and it shorted out because i had to cut the wires to get the stock cat out. i drove it yesterday with no problems, then after like 5 min today in the rain the light went on so that must be it
