so im looking at buying a four door to use as a daily i found found one for 300 but the guy says it needs a clutch, dizzy and main relay its a 94 and he says he put a 96 engine in it which i think is still a d15 does anyone know about how much its going to cost i know a main relay costs about 60 and idk if its worth it or not

I'd do it at the drop of a hat if I needed a reliable beater. Pick up all that stuff for about $300 (mostly new items). The only thing you have to be careful about (imo) is the mechanical skill/knowledge the person who performed the swap. At the most I would be ready to source a new engine, have the capacity to drop it in, and re-wire it (and the most drawn out part if they did a hack job to make it run). If you are lucky it will only need a main relay, some wiring/timing fixed, and a new master/slave cylinder which can all be had for little money. Then a tune up and snows, good to go!

alright well i just get back in contact with this guy whats the diff. between the 94 and 96 they are both non vtec and im pretty sure they are both D series

nothing at all maybe the intake manifold distributer but if its obd2 then take everything off of the 94 and put it on the 96 motor like the dizzy,,, intake manifold and alternator and the wire harness and you'll be okay

I believe the engine he put in is obd2 so that may be why his dizzy isn't woking. If you scoop it up you can probably get it going with a dizzy adapter (obd2-obd1) off ebay. Then you need a clutch (lots of people have those layin around). The main relay may even be good, the guy probably just didn't know what he was doin when he swapped it and he can't get it running so he thinks thrown parts at it will fix it. You will most likely need to move a few plugs around (like the fan temp sensor and intake temp sensor). Get that sh!t

well i found out the guy bought the car as a project and he had it running but he brought back the dizzy because he needed the money so thats why hes selling it so i just need a dizzy for it to run

if you lookin for quick daily i wouldnt i did dat same shit with my accord brought it for 500 he said jst needed paint job nd had a minor tick in engine nd it sound str8 when i brought it after started working on it realize had bad ass eletrical problem, the swap it had was a hack job everything out of placed jst done quick and slopy its jst really a pain in t he ass. but if its jst that it should be quick but remember there alwayz a reason why someone wants to sell there shit cheap. i would just find one on c.l that needs a head gasket ect quick just pain to fix i got mines for 700 blown h ead gasket and its mint now l0l jst my 2 cents

i passed it up lol i didnt trust him i talked to him and he fed me a whole line of b.s. and idk about trusting someone else doing a swap that idk but its of cl so i guess he sold it
