  • why is this fuse blowing?! help plz!!!

    so i started me 91 ef and it was running then sopped and wouldnt start back up but it is turning over...the fuse number 14 that is a 10A fuse keeps blowing...its labeled alternator solenoid valve...what is this an how can i fix it like today?!!

    I suspect your altenator is bad. Try take it out and bring it to auto zone and get it tested.

      my ecu fuse kept blowing cause my o2 sensor wire ripped and was touching ground..,... check ur harness make sure no live wires are touching ground

        werd check for wires touching anywhere and then bring the alternator to autozone for a bench test

          you possibly may have a short in the wire, or loose wire or ground. I don't think a bad alternator will cause the fuse to blow, and if it is the alternator then your battery should be dieing from having no charge and you would have to jump start your car each time.

            alternator puts out 13.82 volts its fine...and i cant find any nick or cuts or rips...and it just started up like nothing even happened now...

                So the car wouldn't start back up while it was hot and when it cooled off it started like there was no problem? Sounds like you have an intermitant problem...either a loose wire, something that is grounding out, or a sensor that is failing when it is heat soaked. Try to get the car hot again without driving it, then shut it down and restart it. If it won't start then I would say something is heatsoaking, if it starts up it is probably something that grounds/shorts out when you are driving. Or it is that main relay doodad, they seem to make all sorts of wierd things happen when they are going bad.

                  its not doing it anymore...start runs drives and starts back up once i shut it off now...weird...must be a loose wire i need to track down...thatll be fun.
