I know I'm gunna need a few parts and a good tune, so let me hear what you guys got on building a sohc beast!!! ( if you name sum parts, try to put down an estimated price on how much it'll cost)

Yea just trying to be different from the rest. I think that'll be my first step d16y8 vtec head and p28 ecu, single jingles got potential, it's that no one taps into that LOL sohc ftw!

Go with a z6 head my dood! Better flowing runners. Before you slap that puppy on get a stage 2 or 3 cam (zex or crower) along with a p&p job and stiff springs and some badass retainers. A sweet cai (3") will be in order along with a skunk2 (or edelbrock) intake manifold with a b16/b18 tb. I am also thinking while your head is getting worked on you should get it milled to bump compression up to 11.5:1-12:1 to really get that thing runnin good. Maybe no milling and get some p29 pistons...up to you but either way you should do the rings if you are going to get your compression up. Then it is a matter of picking up a bisi header, some 2&1/4" exhaust with a high flow cat and a super sweet tune on my p75. Don't forget to make sure you are running a nice gearbox (ex or si naturally) and if you have a few coins left over burning a hole in de pocket a lsd and light weight wheels. Light weight wheels are your friend! Unsprung weight and rotating mass are your enemies (along with high moment's of inertia). Don't forget to get new head studs, t-belt, and water pump while you are in there. Single slam's are f'in sweet and they are dirt cheep to get a replacement for. If you build it they will be swoon ;)

I was just reflecting while I was crapping...that is a 'money is no object' build. To get you there on a budget would be a z6 head and intake manifold, springs and retainers, a stage 2/3 cam, do a gasket match p&p yourself, 3" cai, ebay 4-2-1 header, 2 1/4" exhaust, deck the head, new gaskets, seals, t-belt, water pump, head studs, chip and tune my p75, obd2-obd1 ecu and distributor conversion harness (run vtec wires yourself), ex/si trans, a grippy clutch, and some featherweight wheels. Should get you in the zone you want on a budget (this is my build plan actually sans my p75).

Just get Y8 intake mani, and replace it with your Y7 mani. The runners on a Y8 are nice and fat. And you have to get a Automatic y8 mani. Hit me up B!tch, ill show you the right way to go to make 150whp.

An automatic Y8 intake manifold flows better than a z6?

From my knowledge and experience running a auto y8 mani on a d16y7 motor, theres a bigger difference then a z6 intake mani.

The chamber in a auto y8 mani is bigger then a z6 intake mani.
