ok so i got a 93 civic dx with a d16z6..got the car and it was running on an auto p06,vtec wasnt wired, but car ran pretty good until about 4500rpms then just sputters..
now i got a p28 and wired vtec and it still does the same thing,i dont thin vtec is hitting and its still breaking up..but now at about 5500 rpms..
maybe i dont have the vtec wires right??
    can someone help me out???
heres the pix of my solenoid, can someone tell me which wire goes to which pin on the ecu??

a4 and d6. a4- solenoid d6- pressure. Solenoid is the one wire. Pressure switch is the 2 wire plug. Ones a ground other goes to ecu. SOunds like your dizzy possibly is bad or something.

It looks to me the way that plug is on your OPS that the RED wire should be going to the ecu. And the green should be grounded out.

Also check your timing. sounds like it could be off.

if i had a dizzy from a nonvtec motor on my vtec motor would this cause problem???
the dizzy hasnt been spliced..all the wires to the plug are original.
i have no clue wtf to do..im pretty pissed..
just another problem i wasnt informed of when i got it from that dude

all the guts in the dizzy are same so it shouldnt make a diffrence aslong as it bolts up the same

                        yea it bolts right up...
the shaft on the end of it that goes into the cam is loose tho..like it wobbles alot if you take the dizzy off..could this be a problem?

                          UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so i hooked up a light to the vtec wire to see if vtec was even popping..
well it does hit, right at 5200.the only thing is,right as soon as vtec hits is right when it starts sputtering...
it is not throwing a CEL..i just took the whole solenoid apart and cleaned it up.there was not a single thing on the screen..
my question,,if my oil was too thin,or too dirty would it cause this problem??

Have you checked to see you are running a p28 ecu? Perhapse the wrong ecu is in there...pretty sure p28's switch to vtec @ 5500rpm's or so (also could just be an inaccurate tach)...
