  • iacv fix on ek obd2

hey, i got an ek with a d16y7 on it, i swapped the intake manifold to the y8 and i also put a y8 throttle body.. my y8 manifold is from a 5spd so its got the iacv on the back, and it has the 2 wire sensor for it, so i changed it from 3 wire to 2 wire ...
i dont know wat else i have to do, but i think that i have to change my ecu... so i ordered a jumper harness from obd2a to obd1 and if i go obd1 will this sputtering go off because it just bucks alittle bit and stuff but drives fine, it jumps up and down (RPM) from like 1k to 2k...could it be because the dx ecu needs to read a 3 wire, please let me know asap thanks..

yeah. if youre using dx ecu its still trying to find the 3 wire, get a jumper harness and run obd1, or you could buy 96-98 ex ecu that i might have for 100 bucks. lol... just a thought.

You need to add the 3rd Wire from the Connector to the ECU, I recently did this same exact job for "Portaman03". Youd be better off with a Y8 Auto Mani & TB, because it uses the 3 wire IACV, that is compatable with your ECU.

You can convert to OBD1 & use a ECU that supports a 2 wire IACV, but when its time for Emission testing, your gonna be stuck with a car that wont pass.

That wont work, because he will throw a VTEC code because the ECU is gonna be looking for a VTEC system which is not there.

Hit me up, if you wanna fix this right.
