alty issues

ok my boy has a 1.6vtec in his delsol and he keeps blowing altys and he keeps putting obd0 altys in then changing the pulley cause the obd0 to obd1 is a 4 instred of a 3 rib ....we checked all of the grounds and all the conects ...could it just be that he is using obd0 altys ...? or what could be the problem...? but when he gets over like 3000 rpms it charges
