  • Does anyone else here run AutoX or on a circuit?

Just wondering how many of you drag vs. running AutoX or at Pocono Raceway or Lime Rock Park.

If there's a lot of you, is it worth having a forum for it?

I run AutoX in Bristol, some of us compete in the Tri-States in the Meadowlands
Here's a shot of me running at our old location in Bristol:

$30 for each event. No, it is not to win money, but if you win in your class, you can win a trophy or a plaque.

I was running in STS-2 but with the new AutoX project of mine, I will be running in STS.

You have to be VERY CAREFUL of the mods you do to your car. If you run a turbo Honda, prepare to get your ass kicked because you'll get put into a class where your FWD car will never be able to compete. In my class, I have to keep full interior

Best advice I can give anyone who is thinking about doing this is to BUY AUTOCROSS TIRES! Without them, you'll not only lose, but you will DESTROY your street tires. Expect chunks to be missing from your sidewalls on your street radials.

                              SCCA Rules for 2008:

65,000+ door-to-door, cone clipping and dirt-throwing individuals make us the largest amateur motorsports club in the United States.

This is REAL racing, with turns... not for street racers who can't drive a REAL race course.

If you don't have a budget for tires, get some crappy rims and tires and burn 'em up. No matter how good you think your street tires are, you'll just destroy them so don't use your dailys.

First event is April 13th. Unfortunately, I don' think I'll be ready myself until mid-summer :(
