egkid129-sells blown transmissions

Here are the facts, with out bias, or name calling, or swearing

Begining of May I find on ctvtecs for sale section that egkid129 is selling a semi-built gsr motor/trans combo for a very reasonable price.I contact him to ask if he would be willing to sell the transmission. He listed the trans having carbon synchros and a quaife LSD.

He decides that he would split the motor/trans and asks 1000$ for the transmission.He says it has 1700miles and paperwork proving this.

So me, 93egboosted, and another ctvtec member (dont know his screen name, ill have him post soon tho) goto southington to purchase the transmission.When we get there, Cts Mr.Niceguy and Spoon860 where there.

We work out a deal to buy the transmission and the act 6 puck clutch and flywheel for 1100$ At the time of purchase egkid129 couldnt provide the paperwork for the transmission, but we agree that Mr Niceguy would inspect the transmission on a later date and if there was a problem, we would receive money back.

A month goes by, and we have another trans to give mr niceguy. We waited to see him because we were waiting on a LSD for a diffrent b17trans and wanted to make 1 trip.

Egkid129's trans never made it into a car since purchase, there are 3 or 4 members that can vouch for this trans sitting in our garage.

Upon Mr Niceguys inspection we find the magnet COVERED in metal shavings, NO CARBON synchros, and a BEAT OBX LSD!!

We contact egkid129 when we are standing with mr niceguy and he tells us its been too long and all sales are final.

so we paid 1000$ for a 400$ transmission and this kid literally told me to kick rocks.

So we are asking for 300$ cash back for the missing synchros, because egkid129 says we could have put it in a car and beast the shit out of it, causing the LSD failure. And thats plausible, but still not true.

And in any case, im not really sure how you can beat the shit out of a LSD.

I'm sure this will get resolved doesn't sound like him he had vids also of that motor running nd driving so I'm assuming this trans was the combo running nd driving gl like I said I am sure this will get resolved

can you read? i understand you're trying to vouch for jerry. i know he's a good dude too. but, LIKE I JUST SAID, UNLESS YOU WERE DIRECTLY INVOLVED IN THE TRANSACTION, KEEP IT MOVING.

the transmission could have driven in its condition, but not for long. And it still didnt have a Quaife or carbon synchros.

just to add, even tho the gear stacks DOES NOT have carbon synchros, they are in good shape and have likely gone threw a recent rebuild.

I pulled the engine and tranny out of the car, it was driven to my garage with no problems noises or anything. I'm sure if the LSD was shot u would of heard noise coming from it, right or wrong. I drained the oil out of the tranny into a BRAND NEW pan and never saw any shavings. I'm sure I would of seen something. When I stopped by that day at nice guys, he showed me the washers bouncing around in the LSD. U guys inspected it before we slit the tranny from the engine. I'm pretty sure u guys would of noticed it. A month passed by before it was split open, I understand u say u have people that can vouch the tranny was sitting but I bet those people are also ur friends, half of ct saw this car run in perfect condition.. I'm just the mechanic

OK lets get this shit straight,this tranny was in perfect working order out of my hatch.spoon860 pulled the motor and mrniceguy came and inspected the tranny while i waited for u guys to pull it off the motor,yea i did say any problems let me know assuming mrniceguy was taking it apart the following day because i knew there were no issues with it,then i get a texted almost 2 months later claiming the trannys shot and what i told him wasnt inside the tranny when i know exactly what my tranny had...i dont know u enough nore do i trust anyone on here enough to believe nothing happen to that tranny within 2 months or if thats even the same tranny shown in the pics....funny thing about it is that he was concerned about the diff then he tells me just give him 300 for the syncros when the quaife diff was 750 alone,doesnt that seem suspicious to anyone?so like i said my sale was final what happened in those 2 months that is no longer my problem...

there was never any talk about a time frame, ever.

Did you ever have the tranny apart to confirm the parts?

we would gladdly give you the whole transmission back for a full refund, because in the end its a gsr with out an lsd.

Why would we come after you 2 months later for 300?

And what did you guys think when u drained the oil and it was filled with metal?
