we just pulled the bottom end apart tonight ls/vtecs going to load pics.
car is up and running at the moment (stock bottom end lsvtec) needs some small things but its getting there. making a big sale this week so stuff should move along pretty good. my bdays next week i have a uncashed check from this week and i get paid in 2 weeks. the sleeved bottom end is going to the machine shop this week. im thinking the rods can be saved. i may need a new crank though. i also need every black peice of interior for an eg. big thanks to shttyteg96 and ls/vtec and jb20dvtecm or whatever the fuck his name is on here ahah.

Spun Bearing Cylinder 3.

Crank and Rod both scored. As you can see the rod is colored from heat. The first time I started the car after getting it at the garage I heard the knock and shut it down right away. Pulled the valve cover off checked the valve adjustment and all that bullshit just to hope to find something stupid wrong because I really was hoping the bottom end was good.

Pulled the motor and pulled the bottom end apart tonight.

Also curious to know who assembled the bottom end? Because one of the 10mm bolts was sitting in the oil pan. I saw that when I first dropped the pan and hoped that was causing the knock. But then pulled out each rod and found the spun bearing on #3. Still haven't pulled the crank. Hopefully no spun main bearings.








I understand a lot of you are his friends. Cool, im not here to argue or asking you to take sides. He may be a good guy to all of you. But this is the good/bad buyer/seller. He sold A bad car. The body and turbo we can't argue about because kbrown saw it all and still decided to buy it. So thats Kbrowns fault. But the bottom end was not advertised that it had a spun bearing. Im just here letting people know he sold a bad engine. Like this section is made for. You can't argue with the pix altho im sure a lot of you will. I could really care less. It wasn't my money, car or trip. A lesson learned to kbrown.

Yessir. Oh well shit happens. Lesson learned for this guy, never buy a car that isn't running. The car is up n running with a differ setup. The crank n that rod are junk imo cuz the crank is just a LS so it'd be cheaper to replace. Hopefully if all goes planned the car will be looking fresh inside n out withing a few weeks.
