  • Idle driving me insane!!!help...

    hey whats up guys i just swapped a 2000 ls in my whip and i am going to go boost, BUT i had to do the iac valve conversion bc its an ek,had to go from a three wire to a two wire and my car is idling high then drops thens raises then drops, once it warms up it stops, any info would be greatly appreciated ....p.s. i had the iac checked it was good and i had a complete coolant flush done.

            yea but one is for the 02 sensor, which i have to extend the wires and the other one is for the iat sensor which i have to extend the wires as well.

              Try This...

              Tech / Misc - Surging Idle? How-To Tech Article...(56k beware) - Does your engine surge until warmed up? It's really annoying, and 9 times out of 10 I've found the FITV (Fast Idle Thermo Valve) to be the culprit.                   when u went from 3 wire to 2 wire you depined at the ecu correct?

                      I'm going to say the Fast Idle Thermo Valve is the problem, someone i know had the same problem so i replaced the throttle body and that fixed it.

                          after the swap i took off my iacv and cleaned out the screen still did it...so i bought a new 1...its still duin it so ima try the fitv hopefully thats it...cuz it only surges till a car warms up

                            Could it be the thermistor in the air intake temp sensor?

                              yea i had to slot pin 14 into 12 then remove the orange wire.
