  • Transmission Swaps

I current have a GSR with an LS transmission. I know it's not running at full potential but that b**ch still pulls! I like as of now because it's good on gas mileage and the gas prices are retarted high.

To release it's full potential, it's either the GSR, B16, or ITR/CTR.

The ITR top these trans. bc it's equpped with the Helical LSD and the final drive is strong.

I wonder how a B16 tran. would run on a GSR motor. I also heard swapping out the B16 for LS 5th would be a good idea.

Well want to hear opinions and some tech info.

I would like to also know the difference between cable and hydro. The pros and cons. I'm trying to learn a little something lol.

Here's the link to the B Series gear ratios:

LS tranny is way too long for an all motor car. You'll be in gear for ever, great for boost though, The only difference between the r and the b16 tranny is the lsd, which honestly, isn't this godly thing that everyone makes it out to be. And yes, b16/r tranny with an LS 5th will give you good highway rpms, but going into 5th (if needed) during a race will then be pointless.

I hear you on that. On the 1/4 mile mainly 1st-3rd and partial 4th is passing the finish line. The B16/R are close ratio gears, which is good for the track. I agree with you, the LS gears are too long, but it is good on gas mileage for me because I do travel alot and it's my daily driver.

better you source a tranny, get the swap with the hydro and sell that tranny and you can pick up cables for a lot cheaper.. i dunno why. but its just that way.
