  • Gsr skunk2 manifold emissions

I hav an original 96 Gsr (obd2a) and I hav a first gen skunk2 intake manifold and aem fuel rail I want to install

I'm just curious if Install the manifold and fuel rail and use and obd2a p73 type r ecu will I still be able to pass emissions I will be using the the stock Gsr throttle body and sensors with a LS rotor and throttle cable nd new gaskets of course

Why would you run a p73? That is retarded. From changing the I/M you shouldn't trigger any cels. So you should be fine.

Because changing the manifold from a stock intake manifold to a skunk2 manifold changes it from a dual stage vtec setup to a single stage setup if I use the Gsr p72 ecu it's gonna bog from 4400-6000rpms and since the skunk2 manifold replicates and ITR manifold I figured a type r p73 ecu would be the best stock ecu to use especially since I plan to run ITR cams in the near future with upgrading springs and retainers

Did you just say a dual stage vtec gsr?

If you have a 96 an newer car the emission machine reads the vin off the computer. If it doesn't match the vin on the car it will kick it off the machine an flag your car at the dmv. So whatever computer you decide to use just make sure you have paper work for it. If you have papers for the computer, the emissions inspector can put it in to the emission data base that it's lagit.

Gsr manifolds hav butterfly's in them that open up at certain rpms some people call it dual stage vtec which is what I am referring too not 2 vtec solenoids

I know that. But it's in no way dual stage vtec

Well that's what I meant basically considering running the p73 ecu which doesn't look for the butterfly's the p72 has
