  • welded block guard question

where should yu get the block guard welded.. on the inside where the block guard meets the cylinder or on the outside where the block guard meets the block it self or is it on both spots..?

In my honest opinion, do not use a block guard. Block guards have been found to cause more problems than good. They warp the cylinder walls and tend to cause cooling issues also. How much power do you plan on making?

I am making over 500whp on my stock sleeve GSR sir. If the motor is built right and you have a great tuner you should be fine on stock sleeves at 81.5mm.

Unless you are looking for 600whp+, but then you will be entering aftermarket sleeves territory anyways.

for the price of the block guard and a machine shop pressing it in, youre almost 3/4 of the way to one of the most legit alternatives to sleaving.

                      im considering doing this myself.
