  • car wont start...

    ok its my turn...just put my motor back in everything is done by the book...
    i got power spark and fuel but shes not startin...any thoughts...

    Do you have your Timing Right? Do you have your valve clearances set? Do you have compression? Let us know.

        check all the grounds. top ground, tranny ground, thermostat ground

          If the motor has been sitting for a long time the cylinders may have become dry and the rings are not sealing, check to see if you have compression.

            ok so ive been messin with it and aint gettin anywhere...

            -i checked the main relay for the 3 clicks ...good
            -timing is right
            -did not check compression yet
            -as for valve clearence the head came off of the running car and just sat for a lil while and went back on
            -all fuses are good
            -i have spark and fuel through the fuel rail
            she cranks but wont start...at times will give a lil hint that it wants to but thats it

              i just put the whole bottom end together to the haynes book specs but didnt check compression yet

                  i went over it a few times and the firing order is right...and i also have taken the fuel injectors out and they all spit fuel. am also trying a brand new dizzy and have the same problem

                      havent checked the compression yet and im not sure how to check valve clearence but the head wasnt touched when i took it off not sure if that matters
