Hey, Ive been looking at springs, retainers, and valves to replace in my gsr. I want to go aftermarket and have been looking at two or three different brands. I heard supertech was good so I have been looking at there products and its priced very well I thought. I have also looked at Crower and Omni Power products. Does anyone have an opinion on these parts and companies? any opinion is appreciated. Good or Bad!! Thanks!!

you cant go wrong with any of the brands you listed. for example Omniman on honda-tech got a 200whp b16 using omni power internals. Crower is also a very good company as well. They do have some monster LS cams, but their internals (springs, ret, etc) are used in many turbo honda motors. IMHO you cant go wrong with which ever one you choose. Especially if you're just replacing your existing valvetrain and nothing else.

is it better to go flat or dished valves? I really wanted to put a supercharger on the gsr, that is my goal and I want to build the motor accordingly. whats the best aftermarket or b series interchangeable parts to have a build gsr with a supercharger that would work out well and produce some power?1991 EF Hatch - SOLD

The standard is Flat Faced=All Motor and Dished=Forced Induction. Flat faced valves raise compression a bit which is why its preferred in an NA set up. Question though, why are you going supercharger, instead of turbo? Im not trying to knock you, but you might be setting yourself up for disappointment depending on your power goals (not knockin on any one who has a supercharger, just a personal preference). Dont get me wrong I've seen very well built supercharged engines, but IMHO, you can have a turbo beast for roughly the same price. As far as the "best" aftermarket parts, there are way too many to list man. Honestly it all comes down to preference as well. For example whether you choose Arias pistons or JE, both are reputable companies, and cant go wrong with both.Last edited by it0sls203; 01-25-2009, 09:16 PM.

I've never seen a full supercharger kit for a grand unless you find it street price im assuming. I know that Jackson Racing and Rotrex usually run around the same price as some turbo kits. There's a reason you don't see many supercharged set ups but many turbos on hondas. Again like I said If supercharging the gsr is what you want to do the either choice would be fine. Just build it right the first time, make sure you have some one good tune the car and your motor will repay you with power and reliability.
