  • B18c1 block b16 head questions

Ok so I have a 95 b18c1 (GSR) block with stock crank and rods with pr3 pistons (b16). The head is a 00 Si b16 with Gsr cams. Just wondering if anyone has tried this set up and or what I can expect to see for horse power, torque, and compression ratio???? And what rpm can I safely rev to

I know gsr cams on a b16 head is an upgrade. Never really saw a gsr block with a b16 head

Gsr block and b16 head is broke mans type r. It's said it's suppose to have more power than a type r. I'm no expert on that tho. And gsr cams on a b16 head I hear is an upgrade and cheap power. Should be a decent cheap setup. I don't know too mch about it tho

Poormans type r will run good with nice boltons fuel injectors and a good tune the power range will be around 170 to 180whp or more...it will run strong tho...niice torque too..i like poormans alot

a stock poor mans type r wont make as much power as your thinking, remember a type r has higher comp pistons and more agressive cams with the same rod/stroke as a gsr an also uses the b16 casing for the head just bigger ports/manifold if not mistaken.egkid_93 your poor man made good power cuz it isnt stock lol..i'd suggest those pistons or p30 pistons on ls/b20 crank an rods for more stroke with your head and ctr cams im sure i can get pretty close to the 200hp mark with the right bolt ons and tune, but good luck with your build regardless..

If I remember right that setup makes less power than a gsr stock. Lower compression because the gsr stroke is shorter than an LS or something like that.
i made a pixelcar for my sig but i'm too lazy to pm a moderator.

Use the b20 crank and rods with those b16 pistons, and the head gasket should match what ever head you're using as long as it's still 81mm, it'll be a nice high comp setup a tune is very recommended don't drive this setup without 1

The rods on a b20 r longer than the Gsr rods? Shit I learn something new every day

There actually not longer cuz the b20 crank has more stroke to make up for it. More stroke = more power but u just can't throw them on a Gsr crank n expect it to work..

B16 heads ARE THE SAME CAST AS A TYPE R !! either honda tuning or another import magazine did a whole write up on this about 6 yrs ago. GOOGLE IT. Dont give advice unless u can back what u say, up. Period. B16 cams have the same duration as type R cams THATS Y both SAY PR-3 on them. Cuz their the same cam!. The b16 head on a gsr bottom will give u more hp than the gsr head will because the dome in the cylinders is tighter than the 1.8. This is y ppl perfer to use a b16 head on a b20 bottom end when they do b20 vtec setup. B16 heads also flow better than the b18. Thats also proven. Smh at all the miss information floating around. My advice is to do your own research when it comes to building anything. Putting a b16 head on a b18c1 bottom is a good idea. Not meny ppl do it. So do it. Build ur's for u.
Talking about misguided info, no the cams are not the same buddy http://www.team-integra.net/forum/bl...s-engines.html
