  • B16 damper removal HELP!!!

    Trying to remove the harmonic balancer on my b16 to do the water pump,but i've used a impact gun (electric) no budge,can't do it by hand because damn thing spins the whole crank,any suggestions on how to get it off???

        Only thing is i have no air gun or even an air compressor,i know it will do,any other methods?

            There's a special tool to hold the damper in place. Then u can do it by hand

                Go to pepboys
                Rent the crank holder
                Use your legs to drop kick it under the car

                  heat the bolt up with a torch to the point that its red and then loosen it up with the impact gun.i have taken off crank pulleys with my cordless craftman impact

                    if you don't have a air impact get some pb blaster let it sit for about 20 mins then retry.
