  • car ildling wierd help!!!

just did a swap in mt integra... installed the motor and plugged in all the wires and fired right up first start....idled fine ran fine... then later i went to install the rear motor mount... the wiring harness was in the way so i unplugged it and moved it out of the way and installed the mount... plugged everything back up fired up the engine and bam! the car starts idling wierd and i throw a check engine light.... thought it was the 02 sensor bought a new one installed it reset the batt. and still throwing a check engine light and idling wierd... checked all the vacum lines nothing and bought a new idle control sensor and still same thing... it ran fine before and i know its somthing stupid but im out of ideas... car makes a "bum" "bum" "bum" "bum" noise when its idling...im stumped and getting pretty frustrated all i want to do is drive my car with the new swap... oh and its obd1 and i cant find the wires for the prong so i can see how many times the check engine light flashes.... any ideas will be greatly appriciated..

I have seen that countless times. There are 2 sometimes 3 of the same 2-pin round gray connectors behind the Intake. People most of the time swap the IAC valve connector onto the IAT Sensor & Vice Versa. If that doesnt do it, you'll have to flash the C.E.L. Code. & work from there.

Is your car a 96? If so, it's OBD2, & you would use the 16 pin DLC connector.

thing sounds like a mad cammed out v8... some guy stopped me at stop&shop and asked me if i had a rotary under the hood.... looked up the code and it pooped a number 14 code out "Electronic Air Control" and these are the possible causes

                      -IAC valve
                      -Fast idle thermo valve
                      -Throttle body

                      Details:
                      -IAC valve mechanical malfunction
-Fast idle thermo valve malfunction (AT)
-Throttle body clogged port, improper adjustment
                      -Intake manifold, gasket leakage
                      -Intake air hose loose, leakage
                      -Vacuum hoses leakage
                      -ECT sensor incorrect output
-Throttle position sensor incorrect output.... its going to be a long day...lol

change ur iac. if thats not it check ur plugs wires distributor cap n rotor. if thats not it ur valves might be burned. or ur injectors are shot.. maybe even a map sensor..

i doubt the valves are bent. The injectors came off the gsr that was in the car when bought. So those are good. Already replaced the iac with a 100% working one. And the dizzy, cap n rotor are brand new. It's in the wiring. But the map sensor also may be shot because he said the car is breaking up when he goes full throttle. Hows the gas mialege?
