The knock seansor is on the back of the block under the manifold.but if u don't have a light on then it could be in the head it self..if u don't know how to do that get some one that knows how to take apart the head no like rebuild or any thing.just take cams out ect and Chek the lma's and all that

Wow, you were told to change the thermostat and check the oil pan. Did you do any of the above? If you don't feel comfortable with it call me and I will provide some Alternatives, lol. 8608050968

If the thermotstat is stuck open it will allow the engine to over cool. If ur temp gauge is dropping while driving, a bad thermostat is the reason, specially in the cold months. The e.c.t. (engine coolant temp) sensor puts out a signal that the ecu reads. If the the e.c.t sensor isnt sending sending out the proper ohm siganl because the block dropped below normal opperating threshold, it will cause the ecu to dis-enguage vtec. If u start ur car and drive it down the street and dont allow the the engine to warm up, vtec will be absent until the ecu gets the signal that the engine is at normal opperating temp. Hope this helps bro .
