VTEC Doesnt Pop

okay so i got this car a little over a month ago
got it kind of cheap (not gonna say how much) because it didnt pop vtec at all
previous owner suspected it to be a bad solenoid

turned out it was the oil pressure i gave it a fresh oil change with mobil1 synthetic and changed the filter i also changed the spark plugs to new NGK ones

now the car pops vtec but i notice only in first and second gear and third gear also once in a blue 4th and 5th gear doesnt pop at all tho
i kno its not popping because i went on the highway with my friends bonestock ls and my car was barely faster

its a GSR integra with a Type-R block GSR head and skunk2 intake manifold and is running on a chipped b16 jdm computer

im not too sure what it could be but i noticed when driving at a high rate of speed my motors temperature drops and im starting to believe that thats my issue


i need everyone elses input i want to get this fixed by this weekend

btw i havent gottin around to changing the dizzy cap and rotor yet and the wires havent been changed since i got it either

im gonna change the dizzy cap and rotor this week but honestly i doubt thats it i think its the thermostat causing the motor to run cold on the highway and at high speeds which isnt allowing vtec to pop in high gears but im not 100% yet

i dont have an answer for you but that does make sence.

well i'll find out this week, im gonna do the tie rods dizzy cap and rotor get an alignment clean the sensors throttle body and vtec solenoid then flush the radiator and change the thermostat hopefully this fixes my problem, if not then it has to be my valves or something

hows your headers?? are they bent at all.. check engine light?? speed sensor working??

NO CEL, all my gauges work properly and the headers have one very minor dent on them but nothing crazyy

a bad tstat will not cause a motor to run cold it will make it over heat and deff has nuttin to do wit vtec...focus on ur oil pressure spark timing and computer and DO A TUNE UP!!!!!
