I am also having that same issue with my db. With my car started it will idle perfectly for more than an hour but as soon as touch the gas pedal, the engine starts bucking untill it stalls out, like a vacuum issue. The first valve is supposedly called a dashpot pot valve. It's a vacuum valve that runs off the intake pipe before the trottle body.how it supposed to work it that when the gas pedal is pressed and the trottle plate opens up, the valve gets vacuum from the vacuum in the air intake. When you let your foot off the gas, that valve is supposed to slow down the throttle plate from closing too fast and cutting off the air supply to the engine and causing the engine to stall out. Try running the hose to the intake and let me know how it works...i need help too

alright but thats how long the hoses are and i kno there supposed to be longer so idk if the previous owner cut them because of the aftermarket air filter thats on (u cnt c it in the pic obviously cuz it was off at the time, but yea mines idels for like 5 min just fine then starts to act up and i needa get dis fixed so i can pass emissions and get it on the road

ok do any of u guys have check eng light? if so check that first.....is ur idle loping up and down or is it just too low or too high? the reason i ask is becus it sounds like all of u have bad throttle position sensor....you would have a CEL for that...if u dont have the light then its a vacuum leak..on the obd0 cars u might have to change those dash pots....the spring inside tends to give out....on the obd1 cars with no CEL u wanna check the valve that sits on the bottom of the throttle body....it has an adjustable spring inside that can wind loose....u wont get a CEL for that cus even tho there is coolant flowing thru and its conected to the iacv it has no electrical conection to the ecu......just some thoughts from havin to deal with the same issues in the past...gl guys

i have a check engine liht on but its cause of the oxigen sensor not being plugged in cause of a broken plug but..... but now that you mention it the tensioner is bad so the timing belt is really loose.... i dont even feel like fixin it anymore, lol. i think im gonna sell the car and get another one thats in better shape.

Thanks, bro... I actually do have a brand new TPS. I will definitely swap that out tomorrow. Also, I was looking online for the dash pot and air boost valves...where can I get those? Do I have to go oem or can I get it anywhere else?
