  • Help!!! Stripped thread

whats up guys, so as some of you know im puttin my b20v in my hatch very soon. my clutch and flywheel just came in so now i have everything i need. well when i went to mount up the flywheel i come to find out one of the threads on the crank flange is stripped -_- im guessing who every took the motor out of the last car it was in had the flywheel hanging on this last bolt and it stripped it on the way out. ive tried several different bolts in the hole so i know its not a stripped bolt. Ive done my research and im pretty sure i need a 12.10 size tap which apparently is fucking hard to find. So my problem is i have no idea where to find this tap and im wondering if maybe anyone can do this for me?? this is literally the only fucking thing stopping me from putting my motor in. Oh and its only the top few threads that are stripped. not like the whole thread or anything.

very true, but like i said its very hard to find this size, 12.10, and im moving out of my house real soon so i have limited time to get this done in my garage. cant sacrifice a week of waiting for a tap

and i forgot to mention it has to be a bottom tap. which makes this even more hard to find....

Check the thread on the bolt thats suppose to go there to make sure its the right size. Try autozone too. I know you can rent the tap and die set there but not sure if they have the size you need.

Well sense the whole thing isn't stripped try to find that size/thread bolt. Go with that tho. But I do know that the auto trans flywheel has shorter crank bolts so try using 5speed bolts? Idk what tranny it had before so u might get lucky
