so i got my valves adjusted like last month cuz i kept on hearing them on my b18a1 but

now that i got em done i still keep on hearing the same noise so i hit up my dude

93supercoupe and asked him bc a while back when we met up for this deal

we did i told him about my valves n he also said it could be the lms so i been

looking on the web for more info but its not giving me the info i wanna kno so

i just wanna ask you ctv if this is bad to keep on driving it like that or not

cuz the motor runs good and strong but i just wanna kno more input about

this lms like if i keep on driving it like this will it fuck up my motor in any way or what and also what does this lms do whatsthe purpose of it thanks folks.

Well for the few of us that are all motor in here it seems as though lost motion assemblies have come up in conversation as of late. i wanted to fully explain these things to you guys so you can make an informed judgement as to what you need to do about them. First off an explanation lost...

your ls doesn't have an LMA, they're in vtec heads only.

DA's are known to have loud injectors, my guess is that. oil level where it should be? small exhaust leak possibly? has the timing belt been done that you know of? could be backlash in worn t-belt teeth causing valve timing to be a bit off.

stop by harbor freight, get a stethoscope and poke around the motor to pinpoint where the noise is coming from. those things are invaluable for automotive use. http://www.harborfreight.com/mechani...ope-41966.html

good info thanks...i just had to ask bc all the info i kept on reading where on vtec motors not any ls's n some said something about the injectors n stuff but i should be getting my timing belt done in the next month or so and ima order all the new gaskets for the exhaust n see if it goes away if not owell the motor drives fine the noise is not affecting the performance at all

prolly your injectors. listen close to the injectors n see if they are clicking loud,

Well alot of ppl always turn to the head wen they hear a lil ticking... being that its a b18a1 and u did a valve job.. i wuld say the bearings are goin in the block.. hav som1 rev the motor and listen closely if it gets any louder.. big mistake alot of ppl make turning to the head when they hear a tick.. plus u just did a valve adj soo u def kno the head is good..

not necessarily. you'd know the valves are properly adjusted and that's it. a valve adjustment wouldn't rule out anything else top end related.

you dont have that in your head, thats vtec lolz. u just need an adjustment done if any thing,if that dont help your motor is on its way out,,meaning your barring are bout to going.that had happen to me wear it sound like it was the head but it turned out to be the barrings..and this was on a LSV..so if u want hmu il chek it out for u,,ok homiii...lmk u got my cell # right, well if not 203-606-7913 hmu..

Awdream is correct also any ticking that the motor makes is usually in the top end as in valves, valve guides, pushrods, also the valve springs on high mileage cars tend to tick that's normal wear and tear also like stated injectors especially low impedance injectors ie. Obd0 or any injector that needs a resistor box tend to tick loud. I highly doubt ur bottom end is going its more of a knocking sound which is the actual parts rods, crank moving on one another. When u adjusted the valves was the head cold?
