  • Replaced axle now car vibrates??

Ive read some other threads online but i will post here and see if anybody has experienced the same problem.

Replaced my passenger axle with a reman from napa(3 yr warranty). Now the car vibrates under acceleration in 2nd and 3rd gear. Install was smooth all bolts tightened replaced correctly etc. I even replaced the tie rod end with a MOOG replacement due to killing it breaking the nut free. Car rolls smooth in 4th 5th but sometimes its fairly bad.

Other threads have said prob bad axle/reman job?
    anyone experience same thing?

no i didnt dude. i only installed the driver side tie rod end. i destroyed the other one breakeing it free. so the threaded part spun when trying to reinstall the bolt.

So an alignment and try another axle? Does putting a new tie rod end on fuck with the alignment being that you have to move its location a bit when backing the nut off?

              Thanks for any info guys

Your alignment is probably off if you changed the tie rod end. Different companies make them slightly different lengths so even if to put it back on the same thread as the old one if its not the same brand it is definitely off. Did you check your lug nuts after a few miles to make sure they are good and tight?
i made a pixelcar for my sig but i'm too lazy to pm a moderator.

if. u dont put the tiie rod just like it was when u took it off it will lose the alingment so if u spined it 20 times to take it off but only spined t 10 times to put it back on then yea u need to get it alingned i think thats how its done if not my bad for the bad input im not an expert im still young n learning

If nd when u change an axle u don't need to take off the tie rod end just then lower balljoint nut lol gl next time u could have saved ur self some trouble my suggestion is get an alignment first

yeah, get an alignment first. chances are it's probably not EXACTLY where it was when it came off, that's enough to get you by to get an alignment.

could be bad toe causing the vibration. if the alignment doesn't fix it, sounds like a bad axle like others also said. reman axles are hit or miss.

I'd replace the axle again before the alignment because you have to take it back apart after the alignment to replace the axle again...If the alignment doesn't fix it

damn thats beat figured i had to to swing the hub out the way and make it eaasy. tie rod was beat as hell anyhow it made a significant difference besides the new vibration lol. also removing an axle wont alter the alignment correct?. I should have it aligned and toe adjusted right? then maybe ill get some even tire wear also!

o ya i checked them asap and they was tight still
