  • idle problems

99 si, with a b18c in it, i have a idle problem i have not been able to fix. my check engine light is on for 3 things, tps, idle air control system, and oxygen sensor. yesterday, i replaced the tps, throttle body, gasket, bled the cooling system, let the car warm up, and it still has this problem. heres a video, if you have the time please watch the whole video (about 50 seconds) so you can see what it does when i leave the car at idle.

now when i start my car it revs up to 5k and hangs there for a few seconds then comes back down. i cant drive my car or even start it. let me know guys

sorry about the music, did not realize it was so loud.

look for a vacume leak or take ur intake off look inside the trottle body ull see a hole where there is air being sucked in, cover it with ur finger the idle should drop n stay steady if it does just cover with duct tape or something. if it idles to low raise the idle. temporary fix, its better than hearing it idle every time u use it.. g/l

Duct tape? Wtf.. Please don't do no hack shit like that. Have the car properly diagnosed, by a real mechanic. then buy what u need to fix the problem properly... People on this site need to stop doing hack shit and leave shit like this to real mechanics

I watched ur video nd that's far from a iacv issue which explains why everyone is saying get an experts advise my honest advise is adjust ur tps better change ur map sensor or switch plugs nd see what happens then put em back if its worse it honestly looks like ur car is searching for idle not surging like a iacv would do

i drove like that for years never had a cel come on so nothing hacked bout covering the air intake hole that leads to the bad sensor which makes ur car surge.. something so simple will save u gas.. sounds like some one drove with that annoying surge for years wasting more gas than they were suppose to lol, like i said temporary fix until u Have the car properly diagnosed..
