first off you dont use b16 headstuds for ls/vtec u need gsr headstuds... and its recommended to get new headstuds when ever you remove the head from the block so might as well get good quality headstuds instead of using the old or using the used worn ones

Stock head studs=you tighening the head onto the block vs (with arp headstuds) you r pulling them together when you tighten them to create a better seal..thats why when u install them they say turn the stud back half a turn counterclockwise...also i was told they prevent head lift under high compression and force induction applications....if i were you i would go with them regardless just for added insurance
