ls tranny grinding in neutral

so im lookin at this car but the tranny makes a grinding noise in neutral when the clutch is not engaged. when the clutch is engaged or it is in any gear the noise goes away, only happens in neutral. i was told my my buddy that it is the throw out bearing. did some research and got mixed answers so just want more opinions before i buy. thanks guys

Throw out bearing should make like little bells ticking noise not grinding noise

Its probably has to do with clutch,pressure plate and flywheel something there is fucked up go to the tranny and check go to the front of the tranny and with you hand play with the shifting fork or what ever you call that you should hear it stop if its the throw bearing

could be a throw out or a input bearing take it to NiceGuy tranny rebuild and he will help you threw it for a good price
