    i have a b16a2 wats better to have an ls tranny or a stock si tranny??????

    the b16 is better cuz of the shorter gears u gonna accel faster... ls gears are madd long

          nah men its jus gonna lag men .. what motor u got?? im guess u got a b16a2?? if so jus leave it as is. if your lookin to do sumthin for the tranny jus get a gsr 4th ls 5th and lsd ...

            no it will not give you more tourque but the tranny was set to work well with a lower reving slightly higher trq engine like the ls, b20,h23 etc.

            now a engine which has no lower end but screams up top will need a shorter geared thranny , cause it need to pull it thru the lower rpms faster to utilize the higher end power and since it revs being a shorter geared wont be so bad!

            like a b16 trans on a ls will make it feel quicker cause it goes thru the gears faster, but a ls trans on a b16 will not work good cause it keeps it in the lower rpms more and the b16 sucks at lower rpms.

            thats the ez way to explain it!

              but on thing bout the b16 tranny is that it sucks on highway right??...

              cuz i have a b20 nd i want to throw on a b16 head nd im still thinking if i want to put a b16 tranny cuz im on the highway...90% of the time i drive nd i heard a b16 tranny on highway SUCKS!!.....so stickin wit it the ls is a no no then...huh?? (cuz of the long gears)...hmmm well the b16 i guess is a no no too..since the highway right??...idk..man.. im still tryin to figure out wat i want to do.....wats in the input on the GSR TRANNY?!?!...

                    Ls Will be better on Highway, B16 will keep you higher in the Rpm/gear range, so it's gona sound like your engine is screamin, and If i'm not mistaken(don't quote me on it) i think for highway the Ls gets better gas mileage

                    And It does matter big time if you N/A or boost which trans is better for you

                      ls fifth, easy fix. and i have like 4 ls 5ths so when we put the b16 gears in your cable case we will throw a ls fifth in there. on the house.
