whats good ctvtec...so i had an ls in my hatch and got a knock and it got worse so i pulled the motor. took it all apart and found one of the rod bearings was crushed paper thin. so im trying to figure out what i can do.

i was thinking about just buying a fresh crank new bearings and using a good rod from another ls with new pistons. will this work out for me or will i b better off getting a complete long block

    thanx

just replace that bearing and see what happens?

ive done it before, drop the oil pan unbolt the rod, throw a new bearing in and bam!

but it was on a hyundai that wasnt too bad of a knock lol

but... the right way would to remove the crank make sure its not garbage, have the jurnal (sp)? cut and put a bigger bearing in, if all in within specs of course. but that right there will cost money, cause one you gota have a machine shop look at it and do the work and buy a new bearing and a reseal kit sooo...

id say just go K series!

I knew that was your problem. It's only a matter of time before a rod bearing goes on a LS or B20 when your revving them. Def. just go find a LS Short Block Complete & put your head on it & call it a day. To out source a Crank, & rod is gonna be costly, not to mention all the NEW bearings & seals that will be needed.
