My car it back fires sometimes when i accelarate , and i go to slow down it back fire , theres no check engine lights , is this normal ?

does it have a cat? if not it's normal if the car is running a little rich. cats also act as a 'flame arrestor' which will stop backfires, flames, and ignition of unburnt fuel

ahh i have a resonator , idk if that close as a cat . . && i know my primary 02 sensor needs to be change cus when i plug it in , my car drives and idle kind of funny , but it throws no cel . . .

i have a 2 1/4 exhaust with a flowmaster muffler . idk thats the cause . .
