heres how i see it with b16 and GSR

GSR= 1.8 liter bottom end makes a little more torque

B16= same head as a TYPE R "pr3 " better flowing , and my oppion pull 10 times harder then a GSR , i have raced many GSRs vs. my b16 and i out pull them 9/10 times this is just my oppion.... it all depends on the person

your options for obd2a b16s are pretty much null. there are no US obd2a b16 ecus that will work for inspection purposes. 99-00 em1 ecus are are the only option and they require alot of meticulous work to get them to function up to par to pass obd2 inspections. you could in the theory back jump the ecu from obd2b - obd2a but the first problem is that the obd2b ecus have enhanced evap controls like gas tank pressure sensors and a more intensive purge system. it owuld require you to swap the gas tank pressure tubes that run in the tunnel form a 99-00 civic which all had it, SOME 96-98 cars had these provisions but its hit or miss and most of them were inteded for sale in california etc. it would be in your best interest to source a obd2a GSR setup to run instead, it will be less labor intensive and much more cost effective. you could essentially swap in a full setup from a gsr minus (mounts, harness). it would require you to add provisions for butterflies in order for the ecu to run at par enough to run all the readiness monitors. otherwise dc2 linkages, axles, halfshaft. will work. then depending on your budget you could source a set of hasport mounts and an em1 rear t-bracket or run complete factory EM1 mounts.

                hope that helps
