    Obd2 1997

    harness
    97 civic dx

    P75 (obd2?)

    Crazy huh! So I just bought a obd1 intake mani and a 95 obd1 harness and gnna buy a pr4 (obd1).

So now I will hav everything obd1. Now following everything I said will still wrk? Cuz im super confused now cuz of the hole obd1 obd2 shit. When did obd2 start? Cuz I thought it started in 97. But ive been reading and ppl say it started in 96.

your hatch is obd2 (most likely)
on integras obd2 started in 97
on civics it started on 96.

in order for anything to plug up from (obd1) to (obd2) ull need a jumper harness

      my 02.
      wiring:
      Keep it obd2.

      idling:
try cleanin ur IACV (Idle Air Control Valve)

its located under the throttle body n controls the cars idling.
this usually get dirty,and/or loose, causing ur car's idle to either:

      idle real low.
      idle real high.
or bounce all over the place.

^i had all three problems with my sohc. i took it apart, cleaned the valve n lil cylinder, put it back together n the car idles damn near perfect...hope this werks for u bro.

heres a diy link on cleanin you iacv.

its for a sohc but ull get the point...same bs.

Hey all for those of you that have an irradic idle and are annoyed with it heres how you clean and fix the problem. IACV = Idle Air Control Valve step one: locate your IACV it looks like this and on D series engines its mounted on the rear of the intake manifold near the throttle body, and...

My old B16 had that issue when i first got it.

Take the IAC off of the throttle body, there are 2 philips screws on a plate. Take those off.

There will be a white disk inside. Tighten that and you will be good to go.

Your hatch is obd2, putting an obd1 intake mani and engine harness won't work right. The harness, ecu and intake mani is all correct for that swap to be in your car don't tamper with it you'll only have more problems.

Like ej1_sleeper and B16eg6 said, pull off the IAC clean it and tighten the little white disk inside. 9 times out of 10 that should work but if not there's still other things to do/check that don't cost money or are cheap. If that still doesn't work lmk and if you want I can come give you a hand with it.

Here's what you do if you have an idle problm, you convert your harness, meaning that you're ecu is trying to read a two wire iac, but your harness is still a three wire.

Your Ek is obd2 meaning you cant use the obd1 harness because obd2 is a one piece harness. Hit me up if you need further assistance.

You can use the OBD2 or OBD1 intake manifold. It doesn't matter. Only differ is the ugly ass sensor on the top of the OBD2 mani.

As for engine harness you have to use the OBD2 harness.

The jumper harness allows you to plug in a OBD1 ecu. You can use a OBD2 engine harness, and whole OBD2 swap and still run a OBD1 ecu no problems.

                          OBD2 started in 96. 96-98 is OBD2A. 99-00 is OBD2B.

Did you do the CKF Bypass? if not and you are running a OBD2 ecu it will cause the car to run like shit.

Who did the 2 wire to 3 wire IACV Wiring? If no done correctly it will idle like shit.

Do you have A FITV on the bottom of your throttle body? If so do what other ppl in this thread said. Take it apart and turn the white plastic thing all the way in. Or Bypass it by running no coolant lines to the bottom of the throttle body.

Do you have any vaccum leaks? That will cause a shitty idle.

Are your coolant temp sensor on the side of the head good? That will also cause a fucked up idle.

What exactly do you mean by saying your idle is fucked up? What is it doing.
