  • Intake mani help

I bought a b16 head for my b18 non vtec. Everything is all put together except the coolant lines. The head came with an intake mainifold that is p73. There is an extra coolant line on the mainifold can i bypass this some how or do I need a different intake mani?I thought it was the stock manifold when I was putting it on so I didnt think I would run into this prob. Do I need a type r throttle body?

if you're talking about in the corner on the dizzy side you can cap the lil one off with a plug and a clamp.

you can do that or get a T fitting and cut one of the hoses off your throttle body in half and put the T in and run the 3rd spot on the T to the mani.

u should literally delete all small coolant lines to begin with. The throttle body ones and iac ones. Think about it y would u want hot coolant going threw your tb where cold air is suppose to be coming in..... a wise man once told me this. Done it to all my cars, zero problems.

its to warm the car up quicker and keep electronics from going bad when it gets cold, well thats atleast what my boy who used to work at honda told me lol but who knows if thats really true. but yea I would cap them all too.
My eclipse has the same setup run and I used to wonder why all this crap was needed. Why cant they make these engine bays simple for tuners so we save time and stop trying to figure out how to make their cars better lol.

run the intake manifold small outlit to the outlit on the cooling tube that connects the thermastate to the waterpump( its a small nipple) u may have one more on the waterneck on the head( if its a b16) just cap that off! youll then have no tb lines or iac lines, presto your done.

i was about to say the same .. delete all coolant going into the throttle body.. keeps intake manifold alot cooler and cooler air comes in .. why would u want a hot throttle body feel me so just keep the iac lines and delete the rest
