    bump for antique timing lights
    Well timing lights are used to set ignition timing, the easiest way to explain this without pictures is there is UP on both cam gears first take a 14mm and turn them till the UP Is up.. Then look closely on the side of the gear you will se a little in dent in the gear u want those indents to line up with each other. Now this is going to move that UP on the gear probably about 15 degrees on exhaust side. Now that both the indents are aline look down at the crank pulley there 3 marks then a 4th mark following set the forth mark to the line on the timing cover to set the block to TDC now with everything set slid the belt on and tighten the tensionor, the cams are going to move so u need to keep a wrench on one and hold it. Once the belts on check all marks and make sure they are still lined up.

    Also to make it easier for belt to side on get a flat head and get under the tensior and push it upwards to take tension off the belt

            it wouldnt even turn over if it was the engine grounds. if he says everything else is okay, it can only be timing or a bad connection or a sensor,

              take out ur number 1 spark plug...put a screw driver in it...turn the crank till its TDC then go from there...u should be good..also remember sensors cause cars not to start...make sure they are fully pluged in sometimes u plug it in and its not fully in...also check ur lines..pull off the fuel line to the fuel rail...see if u get a squirt when u crank it over...see if ur getting spark..make sure the basics are down...sometimes when u rush something ur excited for u may unknowingly forget to tighten down something...im sure were all guilty of it..if u get spark and fuel well u know its not that u can go to timing...if timing is good recheck ur valves..u can torque them down too much and they wont move smoothly ..if u need help pm me ill go step by step how to do stuff...good luck

                    ... never stated what the light was. Timing for 1, coulda been so far off when u cranked it u bent valves, who did the machine work, did they lap the valves correctly, do u have compression tester..... so many things lol. Whats the cel light first before u flood the shit outta your engine.

                            @mr.niceguy

                            no cel light at all. maint req'd light flashed. i have access to compression test. didnt flood my motor... i had my head machined at Northeast Automachine in east hartford. i was told they do decent work for a decent price. shit took forever to get back tho i dno if id fuk with them again in the future..... i dont think my timing is that far off tho...and im pretty sure if i bent some valves id hear it when the car turns over. thats not the case. she wants to start bad.. i have yet to get an valve adjustment too. idk if that makes a difference.
