  • fuel pump problem

i have a 91 crx si and i drove down the street an a reallly hot day and i didnt let the car warm up or nething so i drove like right down the strett and when i shut it, it was stil cold so it shut down sort of hard.....so 10 minutes later i go to start it to go home and it wont start....so i listened for the fuel pump and its not turning on at all so i tried changing the main relay thinking maybe it warped because it was so hot and still the same problem.....so is the only thing left to check the fuel pump?.....and what models will fit in my crx correctly

see what sucks is u do not have direct access to your pump, you have to drop your tank, cause if u had direct access to your pump u could just run direct power to it and see if it turns on......

I'll be Honest, I've never seen a Honda Fuel Pump Fail, I've Seen some Weak Ones where the Fuel pressure was low, But never seen 1 staright out fail. That's 7years in a Honda dealer & about 11 yrs of Honda Wrenchin. Did you put in a known good Main Relay? Has the Tank ever been Down & Tinkered with? I willing to bet, Main relay or wiring.

i had the car 5 years now and i never touched the tank....and yea the main relay i put in is mint.....is there nething besides the relay that could be causing the pump to not get power?....and i no u said u never seen 1 fail but would running the b16 on the stock crx pump like i been doing cause it to fail?

Main Relay even if the one you just put in is mint it would have gone bad if its used brother. My buddy carries around liek 3 main relays and has to switch them out frequently and there all supposedly "MINT" lol

look at a wiring digram and find the fuel pump power wires and see if your getting power to them cause i know the pumps are barried on that car unlike the newer models. try a different ecu just to see if the fuel pump powers up too. make sure your grounds on your t-stat are tight and your tranny ground is on tight

besides the main relay are there any other fuses that coulda blown causing the pump to not power on?
