  • VTEC question, rattles a bit @ 3k rpms..

    What's up guys, I want my car to run 10's what do I do?


    No but for srs. My integra gsr has a rattle around 3,100 rpms and I don't know what it is. Apparently some worthless shop couldn't diagnose it either when my friend had it before me.

    The VTEC doesn't crack super hard either, but it does have 157k miles on it. If i put in a new solinoid in will it crack like a whip?

    thx...and no i'm not selling anything here.

    that must be a 2010 gsr vtec motor cause i never knew vtec could crack. who knew

                  that slight rattling sound could be bad injector(s), valve lash, or your timing could be off. process by elimination.

                  And SECOND.....VTEC does not crack, pop, etc...it is a crossover...and your not suppose to "feel" vtec "kick in".......when vtec engages you will notice a pull that will increase more as you climb in your power band.(when tuned or from factory)

                  If your slow before vtec then you feel a strong kick then the motor needs a tune because your low end curve is horrible and the bottom end and top end is not working well 2gether.

                  sorry jus had to address that lol

                        i heard i dont kno if its true or not but after a gsr motor hits 150k they start fcking up thats wat ive heard correct me if im wrong

                          Yeah yo, i'm like 7k overdue here. Let me go find the youtube video of the guy hitting 300,000 on an original gsr motor and clutch.
