  • starting problem help

    Heading says it all i got a ls vtec setup when i start the car all i get is one click out of the starter like it were to be a starer problem so i changed it still have the same problem when i jump the starer with a jumper pack the car will turn over but not run i changed the main relay what do think help please

      ive checked all the grounds got good ground to the starter tranny ad engine and the batt im just not sure

          There is 3 grounds. The one from the chassis to the tranny, the one from the radiator support to the valve cover, and the one that goes to the thermostat housing. Check all those and check the voltage of your battery cuz the car needs atleast 12v to start. Also check your alternator wires.

            x2 and check to make sure the starter solenoid wire is getting good contact on the starter sometimes you will have to pinch it shut to make it a tighter fit. also check to make sure you get 12v at the starter and 12v at the solenoid.

                ok everyone im only getting 3.4-4 volts at the starter what should i do next or where to check ??

                  when people run a jumper pack to the stater they always run a neg power..... it will 95% work everytime. The problem is that your not runnning a power then running a power to the sol, were most of the problem lies. Yet since youve said little to no volts just try running a new power to starter sorce and repost gl bud.

                          OK i go tthe car to turn over runs for a sec sometime it back fires a little could it be a timing problem also on the first couple times starting it the inside the intake mani starter fire what do u make of that
