If your burnin oil my guess would be bad rings. Due to it burning oil, your oil level goes down, lower and lower each time you run your car. Soon enough it'll get so low that your vtec oil pressure sensor will sense a low pressure of oil, not enough to engage vtec and will cause your car to begin red lining at 5k so you dnt cause any damage to your engine. Which will also cause a check engine light.

          That is my guess.

yea the actual oil burning could be many things. rings, valve seals, pcv valve. or it could be leaking lol.

x2. Could be that. If the bearing is bad. It will create blow by causing low compression and burning oil.
