over heating help

i turned on my heat and my car started to over heat whats wrong

Your heater core could have gone bye bye, or headgasket.

Do a few things to try and determine what it is.

1. Look at the oil dip stick, and the cap for both oil and radiator. If you see any milky stuff on them then is definetly the head gasket, if not, do a compression test to make sure.

2. This is the hard part, you need to reach the heater core, which is located behind the dash, which you will have to take off and look at the core, plus see if there is any liquid there, or at least remanants of it.

Anyone else can probably give you a better suggestion on here, but this is the best that I can come up with without looking at the car.

umm uc an get a block tester and test the block..umm most likely if u did the thermostat the car is airbound even if your getting heat it can still be airbound..umm try and flush it out or take the cap off and rev the motor slightly if bubbles come out than its definitely airbound...
